Bashar's Trail

Bashar’s 11-kilometer trail starts at Rawabi City’s shopping center, Q Center, with its modern architecture echoing old Arab open markets. The trail continues toward the southern entrance of Rawabi, the first master-planned city in Palestine, a modern architectural city with neighborhoods carrying Canaanite names. The city includes various family-friendly facilities for its residents and visitors, creating an integrated environment for residing, working and living.
The next stop in the trail is Ein al-Jahir, to be seen from a distance, due to the area being under the Israeli occupation’s control. The trail then continues towards a large rock named "The Palm of the Elephant" due to its shape, moving on toward the gas station line and on to "Einj Dara" in the village of Ajjul.
Hikers then head north to Wadi Ajjul/Arura, where the chirping of birds can be heard as the air caresses the branches of the area’s forest, and then east towards Wadi al-Shami, followed by a short stop at a natural water spring in the midst of a spectacular agricultural scene. Wadi al-Shami is known for its biodiversity, whether herbs or birds or animals. In addition to the heritage character of the area, where archaeological ruins, dating back to successive historical periods in the Roman-Byzantine era, can be seen; such as Khirbet Ein Mushriqa, where hikers can have a rest atop of its hill before heading back to the Old City in Ajjul, and to the valley to reach the Wadina area.
The Wadina area concludes the trail, a vibrant open area, considered a destination for Palestinian families from all districts of the West Bank to enjoy the mountain scenery and the vast greenery. The area also contains various entertainment facilities just near the largest Roman-style open air theatre in the Middle East.
The trail begins and ends at Rawabi City, where hikers would also gather ahead.
